Naturalistic tourism on the Corno alle Scale

An ideal place for lovers of naturalistic tourism, the Corno alle Scale Regional Park is part of a system of parks and nature reserves established by the Emilia-Romagna Region since the end of the 1970s to protect territorial areas of high naturalistic and landscape value. The Corno alle Scale Regional Park is spread over five thousand hectares of territory that encloses the highest peak of the Bolognese Apennines, a massif that reaches two thousand meters marked up to the summit by layers of sandstone, hence the name "Scale".

Walking along the many paths that dot the area, far from the chaos and noise, it is possible to meet fallow deer and roe deer, see the golden eagle circling in the sky or hear, in the distance, the howl of the wolf.

An organized network of paths, mule tracks and forest roads reaches the most significant environments and all the main peaks, offering a splendid opportunity for naturalistic walks on the Corno alle Scale - to discover lakes and small mountain lakes with clear waters, ancient villages of origin medieval, excursions and trekking through woods and rocky ridges.

Corno alle Scale is also a renowned ski resort in the Bolognese Apennines. There are the slopes named after Alberto Tomba, on which the great Bolognese champion took his first steps and where he built a large part of his world successes, there are numerous tracks for ski mountaineering, cross-country trails and the modern snow park, where you can try your hand at acrobatic evolutions on the snow table.
