Alto Reno Terme is a small town of about 6,000 inhabitants in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, right on the border between Emilia and Tuscany. The history, the traditions and the millenary thermal culture make it an ideal destination for those who want to enjoy the many aspects of nature and an excellent starting point for suggestive itineraries between lakes and mountains, for long walks between small villages and for beautiful excursions in the countryside.
Porretta Terme, the heart of the Alto Reno Terme area, encompasses the wealth of unique and renowned thermal springs (salt-bromine-iodine and sulphurous) since ancient Roman times. The characteristic historical center develops along the Rio Maggiore and is surrounded by a hilly and verdant environment. The splendid parish church of Santa Maria Maddalena, the ancient thermal establishments, the typography museum, the Demm museum and the Murales del Soul deserve a special mention.
